Gymnastic captain blasts rules

Chinese gymnast Chen Yibing clinched the gold medal at the rings event of the World Cup Gymnastics held by Fédération Internationale de Gymnastique (FIG) in France on March 20.

Before the rings final, however, the captain of the Chinese Gymnastics Men's Team complained on his micro blog that referees deducted 0.2 point from his teammate Guo Weiyang's score in the FIG World Cup vault event, Guo finished ranking No 5 and couldn't make it into the final.

Chen also criticized what he thinks was "unfairness", implying that the Dutch gymnast Yuri Van Gelder returned to the arena while his two-year suspension is not supposed to be lifted until July. "They would check him/her up from head to toe" if a Chinese athlete won a gold medal, said Chen on his micro blog.
