Beach Volleyball games to be held in Indonesia

JAKARTA - Thirty-three volleyball teams from 13 countries and regions, consisting of 17 men's teams and 16 women's teams, will compete in the Asia Pacific Beach Volleyball Championship of Indonesia Open 2010 in Bangka Island of Indonesia from Oct 13 to 16, Kompas daily reported on Tuesday.

The athletes will come from Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand, Australia, New Zealand, India, Chinese Hong Kong, Chinese Taipei, China, Iran, Oman and Kazakhstan.

The event would be held, among others, to promote tourism objects in the island.
