The Asian Games are set for Guangzhou, China, beginning Nov 12.

The Chinese will play 12 exhibition games against MLB Instructional league teams and another game against the Canadian junior national team.

Former Major League infielder Tom Lawless, who helped coach the Chinese team in 2007-08, will guide the squad along with former Baltimore Orioles left-hander Scott McGregor.

MLB has hosted the China team either in the fall league, minor league spring training or both since 2003.

Professional teams from Japan, South Korea and Taiwan have trained at the Vero Beach complex since the 1960s.
