Beijing SportAccord Combat Games kick off

The Games feature 13 sports: wushu, aikido, boxing, judo, ju-jitsu, karate, kendo, kickboxing, Muaythai, Sambo, sumo, taekwondo and wrestling.
In Beijing Science and Technology University Gymnasium, eight judokas in men and women's elimination and repechage struggled their way through about 80 judo participants, proceeding to the finals which will be held here on Sunday.
The Chinese delegation fielded a total of 12 judokas. In the men's categories, Chinese players didn't perform well, while two Japanese, Deguchi Yuki and Momose Masaru, entered top four for tomorrow's final.
After beating Kiwi Koster Jason with an ippon, Chinese judoka Liu Jian once said: "My opponent is not in the same weight level with me, which is one of the reasons for me to win easily." But later on, Liu was beaten by Masaru who entered the final.
"I'm satisfied with my performance today, and I feel really good during the game," said Masaru after the match.
Chinese female judokas yielded relatively fancy results with three keeping the hope of claiming tomorrow's gold medal. They are Qin Qian, Mei fang, and Liu Huanyan. The other semifinalist is Shiraishi Nodoka from Japan.
