Elias scores hat-trick in Guarani's win over Palmeiras

RIO DE JANEIRO -- Elias scored a hat-trick to help Atletico-GO beat Palmeiras 3-0 in the Brazilian championship on Thursday.

Atletico-GO opened the account in the 28th minute as unmarked Elias wound up and blasted a ball into the left corner of the net. Atletico-GO added one in the 37th minute.

Elias finished the hat-trick in the 82nd minute when he fired the ball into the net from close range.

For Atletico-GO, the win took them out of the last place and improved to the 19th with 13 points. They will face Avai at home in next round on August 29.

Palmeiras' defeat keeps them in 13th place with 20 points. In the next round the team will travel to play Atletico-MG on August 29.
