Chen/Wang win women's 10m platform synchronized

QINGDAO, East China - Chinese Olympic champions Chen Ruolin and her teammate Wang Hao were crowned at the women's 10-meter platform synchronized with 330 points at the FINA Diving World Series in Qingdao on Sunday.

Smith Anabelle/Briony Cole of Australia won the silver medal with 325.32 points as Canadians Meaghan Benfeito/Roseline Filion took the third place.

The Chinese diving pair just got 36.60 points, the lowest of the first round, and was trailing behind the Australian divers by 4.92 points before the last round.

But Chen/Wang made a 5253B dive with the difficulty degree of 3.2 and scored the highest mark of 84.48 points of the last round to edge past the Australians by 9.6 points before securing the gold.

The medal came as the sixth gold that the Chinese diving team won at the FINA Diving World Series in Qingdao.
