BEIJING: Former Chinese national team coach Arie Haan has received a three-game suspension by the CFA (Chinese Football Association) for taunting the fourth official with a handful of 100 yuan on a disputed penalty.

Haan took over Chongqing after leaving Albanian national team's coaching position in April, and the bottom side of the CSL (Chinese Super League) pinned their hopes on the former Dutch football star.

Three minutes after Chongqing scored their third goal and led 3-1 to CSL top team Beijing Guoan on August 2, match referee Zhang Lei gave the visiting team a questionable penalty. Haan could not hold his temper and went to the fourth official, taking a dozen of 100 yuan out of his pocket and brandished them in the air, jeering at the official: "You need money?"

The Disciplinary Committee of the CFA ruled on Tuesday that Haan's behaviour is an immoral insult to the fourth official and decided to punish him. Apart from the ban, Haan was also fined 15,000 yuan ($2500).

Haan was lucky as Guoan missed that penalty, and lost to Chongqing 3-2 in the end.
