ROME: Inter Milan have held talks with Barcelona about selling Zlatan Ibrahimovic to the Spanish side and bringing Samuel Eto'o and Aleksandr Hleb in the opposite direction, club President Massimo Moratti said.

Moratti confirmed he had met his Barca counterpart Joan Laporta on Thursday after agreeing to sell Brazilian left back Maxwell to the Spanish and European champions.

"We spoke about Maxwell and Hleb but also Ibrahimovic and Eto'o, who are two players of the same level in my opinion," Moratti was quoted as saying by Friday's La Gazzetta dello Sport.

"This does not mean we'll sell (Ibrahimovic). Naturally, if the deal really did come to a conclusion, Eto'o is a player we'd want to include in the operation."

Inter President Moratti declared last week that Swede Ibrahimovic was off the market after Barcelona and other suitors failed to come up with an asking price of around 70 million euros ($98 million).

Belarus midfielder Hleb is reportedly close to joining the Italian champions after expressing frustration at the lack of playing time he has had at Barca.
