Man Dandan crowned in short distance of FIS Ski Changchun leg

CHANGCHUN, Northeast China -- Chinese skier Man Dandan won the gold medal of short distance in 2008/2009 FIS Tour De Ski Changchun leg in northeast China's Jilin Province on Wednesday.

"China's female athletes have the power to compete with top skiers in short distance and I am not unexpected for my gold medal today. The two gold medals I got this season will inspire me in the upcoming races," said Man, the champion of sprint freestyle in previous leg.

Lotta Puttonen from Finland and Song Bo from China finished second and third respectively.

In the men's short distance event, Swede Johan Edin claimed the title, followed by Chinese Sun Qinghai and Swede Fredrik Persson.
