The Beijing Olympic torch was passed across the globe from March and lit at the opening ceremony of the Games in the National Stadium August 8. The flame was collected in Olympia March 24 and traveled past 19 cities in 19 countries, along with Hong Kong Special Administrative Region and Macao Special Administrative Region of China. The flame reached the top of Mt. Qomolangma in Tibet Autonomous Region of China for the first time, the world's highest mountain. [Xinhua]
