Bills quarterback Edwards injured in loss to 49ers

NEW YORK - Buffalo quarterback Trent Edwards suffered a groin injury in the first half of San Francisco's 10-3 surprising victory over the Bills on Sunday.

"It started bothering me at the start of the game," Edwards told reporters. "I was trying to work through it the first couple of series. ...Then at the end of the first half I was talking to the trainers and we made the call to just shut it down."

J.P. Losman replaced Edwards and was sacked three times as the Bills (6-6) dropped into last place in the AFC East. The 49ers won for only the fourth time in 12 games.
