WASHINGTON_ Liberia striker Francis Doe scored his second goal of the match in the 80th minute to give DC United a 2-1 victory over the New England Revolution on Thursday.

The victory ended a seven-game winless streak for DC United, which is trying to avoid missing the playoffs for the first time since 2002.

New England striker Taylor Twellman opened the scoring in the 58th minute, before Doe equalized in the 63rd.

With the win, DC United moved a point ahead of Kansas City, New York and Real Salt Lake for one of the final postseason berths.

New England is tied with Chicago for second place in the Eastern Conference.

DC United has one regular-season game remaining. On October 26, they play at Columbus, the league leader in points.
