Indian driver Armaan Ebrahim of team TARADTM won the sixth leg of the Formula V6 Asia at the Sentul Circuit just south of Jakarta over the weekend after overcoming gearbox problems.

Starting from the second spot on the grid, Ebrahim overtook Aaron Lim, who started in pole position, to finish first in a time of 40 minutes, 8.224 seconds.

The Indian driver said he had a problem with his car's gearbox but was able to overcome it.

"I feel great after winning a very tight race. I had some gearbox problems which really scared me but otherwise the car was good and I could push," Ebrahim was quoted Monday by English daily The Jakarta post as saying.

He also has won the third and fourth legs in Sepang, Malaysia, last month.

"I'm happy with the win and the maximum points today and I am looking forward to the next race in Chengdu," he said.

Trailing in the second place by 3.274 seconds was James Winslow of Team Meritus. Starting fifth in the grid, he managed to work his way through the crowd to finish second.

Third place Lim, who won the fifth leg of the series, was disappointed with the result.

"I tried to dive on the inside but I felt the car understeer a little so I had to start easing off and try not to make too many mistakes," said the Malaysian.
