Baseball-Dodgers score ninth straight win in San Francisco(Reuters)Updated: 2007-07-14 19:21 SAN FRANCISCO, July 13 - The Los Angeles Dodgers scored six runs in the ninth inning to record a ninth straight win in San Francisco, a 9-1 victory over the Giants on Friday. Record-chasing Giants slugger Barry Bonds was hitless in two at-bats and his team mates did not score a run until the eighth inning. Los Angeles led 3-0 heading into the ninth and sent nine batters to the plate in turning seven hits into six runs. Andre Ethier drove in three of the runs with a double to deep center and went 3-for-4 for the game. Catcher Russell Martin and first baseman James Loney also had three hits for the Dodgers, who had 17 in total. Chad Billingsley (6-0) kept the Giants under control. He pitched six scoreless innings, giving up four hits while striking out two and walking three. Bonds got two of the walks. He twice hit into double plays to remain at 751 career home runs, four shy of tying all-time leader Hank Aaron. *The Arizona Diamondbacks rocked Greg Maddux for nine hits and four runs in four innings as they beat the San Diego Padres 8-3. Eric Byrnes and rookie Jeff Salazar each had three hits for the Diamondbacks, who are 10-1 against Maddux. *Brandon Phillips had a first-inning grand slam homer and drove in six runs in the Cincinnati Reds's 8-4 road win over the New York Mets. Aaron Harang (10-2) got the win as the Reds won for the sixth time in eight games. *Chase Utley and Greg Dobbs each had four hits to lead a 23-hit attack as the Philadelphia Phillies pounded the St Louis Cardinals 13-3. *Carlos Zambrano pitched six-plus shutout innings and had two hits as the Chicago Cubs blanked the Houston Astros 6-0. Zambrano (11-7) also drove in a run and scored once. *Brian McCann homered twice and drove in four runs in the Atlanta Braves's 9-1 home win over the Pittsburgh Pirates.
