Qatar coach Musovic escapes Asian Cup ban(Reuters)Updated: 2007-07-13 08:40 HANOI, July 12 - Qatar coach Dzemaludin Musovic has escaped a touchline ban after being sent off during his side's Asian Cup opener, tournament officials said on Thursday. The Bosnian was ordered down the tunnel late in Qatar's 1-1 draw with holders Japan for protesting over a red card shown to key player Hussain Yaser. "The AFC (Asian Football Confederation) didn't ban me," Musovic told Reuters. "They told me I am on the bench for the game. That's nice!" Qatar play tournament co-hosts Vietnam in Hanoi later on Thursday. The AFC confirmed that Musovic had been let off for his outburst at Australian referee Matthew Breeze two hours later. Musovic flew into rage after Breeze showed Yaser a straight red in what appeared a harsh dismissal. Breeze promptly instructed Musovic to join Yaser for an early walk. Former Manchester City player Yaser will miss Qatar's showdown with Vietnam after his dismissal for fouling Japan substitute Hideo Hashimoto.
