HONG KONG, July 1 - Bayern Munich coach Ottmar Hitzfeld expects great things from Miroslav Klose next season after watching the Germany striker score on his debut.

Klose got the equaliser in Bayern's 2-1 win over Brazilian club Sao Paulo in a friendly on Sunday before Hamit Altintop, another of Bayern's signings for the new season, grabbed the winner. Marcel had given Sao Paulo a first-half lead.

"It's very important for the morale of a new player to deal with the pressure ... so having a successful debut for Bayern Munich will help him a lot," Hitzfeld told reporters.

"He has a lot of possibilities, a lot of skills and he's also an integral part of the German national squad. He's very quick, very mobile, so I expect a lot from him next season."

The 29-year-old Klose, top scorer at last year's World Cup in Germany, was signed from Werder Bremen on Tuesday in a deal worth an estimated 10 million euros ($13.45 million).

The Hong Kong "Reunification Cup" match marked the former British colony's 10th anniversary under Chinese rule on July 1.
