China's golden skating duo, Shenxue and Zhao Hongbo, were married in Beijing on Monday, May 28, the Beijing Star Daily reported on Tuesday.

After 15 years together on the ice, the couple decided to make their romantic relationship public on March 21, at the World Figure Skating Championship in Tokyo. They coupled the announcement with their third gold medal win in six years at the championships.

At the end of their performance, Zhao Hongbo kneeled before Shen Xue to propose to her. However, Shen Xue misunderstood the gesture and kneeled down beside Zhao in solidarity. Though the proposal did not go as Zhao had planned, the couple still decided to make their relationship public.

Shen Xue on Monday told reporters that they have already registered their marriage, but will hold a wedding ceremony in 2008.
