Indonesia will send three young chess players to compete at the April 11-19 Philippine International Open in Subic, the Philippines, and the April 21-May 1 Dubai Open.

The three are Grand Master Susanto Megaranto, International Master Taufik Halay and Women International Master Irene Kharisma, English daily The Jakarta Post reported Thursday.

They will be escorted by coach GM Utut Adianto in Subic.

The Philippine Open offers a winning prize of 6,000 U.S. dollars.

China's GM Zhang Pengxiang (elo rating 2657) is the top seed at the tournament.

The Indonesian Chess Association (Percasi) said the sending of young players was aimed at improving their elo ratings and their skills.
