Charlton's Chinese midfielder Zheng Zhi is set to play two friendlies with the national squad late March, the club said on its official website.

The Chinese captain was included in head coach Zhu Guanghu's squad named for China's friendly matches against Australia and Uzbekistan.

Zheng, 26, has made three appearances for Charlton after joining the struggling English Premier League club in January on loan from Chinese champions Shangdong Luneng for the rest of the season.

He was the first signing of Charlton since new manager Alan Pardew took charge last December.

The Chinese super star has not yet made his full-time performance in England but impressed Pardew as his introduction at half-time prompted a turnaround from Charlton from 2-0 down to draw 2-2 with Watford at home.

Charlton, who have had three managers this season, lie third from bottom of the table with 24 points from 29 matches.
