Colombia to host World Table Tennis Championships(Xinhua)Updated: 2007-02-26 09:04 Colombia will host the World Table Tennis Championships between November 21 and November 29 of 2009, Javier Orlando Paez, president of the Colombian Table Tennis Federation said on Sunday. "Now we have to define a work plan and manage our financial and logistical resources," Paez said in a statement, issued immediately after an International Table Tennis Federation delegation to the country. Paez confirmed that the Cartegena Convention Center will be the main site for the contest, which is expected to draw competitors from at least 22 nations. "We are very pleased that the directors were satisfied by the city: its hotel capacity, and the facilities available at the Convention Center for the World Championships," Paez said. Colombia will also host a Latin American Table Tennis Championship for cadets, head of the World Championship.
