FA charge Wigan coach Jewell after Arsenal brawl(Xinhua)Updated: 2007-02-14 08:52 English club Wigan Athletic manager Paul Jewell was charged with improper conduct by the FA on Tuesday for his behaviour towards referee Phil Dowd after their 2-1 defeat at Arsenal on Sunday. Wigan had looked set to inflict a first defeat on Arsenal at their Emirates stadium after leading through Denny Landzaat's stunning 25-metre first-half goal. But the London side scored twice in the last 10 minutes to keep Wigan deep in relegation trouble. Jewell was furious that Dowd failed to award Wigan, who are one place above the Premier League drop zone, a penalty when Emile Heskey tumbled under a challenge from Mathieu Flamini.
