Finley's three-pointer lifts Spurs over Lakers in OT

LOS ANGELES - Michael Finley nailed a three-pointer with a second to go in overtime to give the San Antonio Spurs a stunning 96-94 victory over the Los Angeles Lakers on Sunday.

Finley took a pass from Tim Duncan and drilled the long-range shot, his fifth three-pointer of the night, to finish with 17 points as San Antonio prevailed despite shooting only 33.7 per cent.

Vladimir Radmanovic sank a three-pointer for the Lakers with 27 seconds remaining to send the game into the extra period at 80-80, but he missed a similar long distance effort to win the contest at the end of overtime.

Kobe Bryant scored 31 points for Los Angeles. He gave the Lakers a 94-93 lead on a jumper with seven seconds remaining in overtime before Finley delivered his long shot.

Duncan added 21 points, 14 rebounds and nine assists for the Spurs. Manu Ginobili also had 21 for San Antonio.

*The Phoenix Suns won their 17th consecutive game with a 115-100 road win over the Cleveland Cavaliers to tie the seventh-longest winning streak in NBA history.

Steve Nash had 23 points and 15 assists as Phoenix countered 30 points by the Cavaliers's LeBron James with five players in double figures.

*Antawn Jamison had 34 points as Eastern Conference-leader Washington handed the Boston Celtics their 11th straight loss, a 105-91 setback at Boston. Delonte West had 22 points and 11 assists for Boston.

*Chris Webber contributed 17 points and 13 rebounds and Detroit Pistons coach Flip Saunders won his 500th game, a 95-87 home victory over the Indiana Pacers. Jermaine O'Neal led Indiana with 26 points, 12 rebounds and five blocked shots.

*Milwaukee Bucks guard Mo Williams, who missed nine games with a shoulder injury, returned to score 30 points in a 107-105 home win over the New York Knicks.
