Chinese computer giant Lenovo Group has announced a sponsorship deal with the Williams F1 team.

The Lenovo name features strongly in Williams' 2007 livery, with logos on the side pods and rear wing.

As the major sponsor of Williams, Lenovo effectively replaces Hewlett Packard.

Having started their backing of Williams in 2000, HP's position changed after Mark Hurd assumed the role of Chief Executive Officer and president. He declared the end of cooperation with Williams in 2005.

HP was contributing an annual budget of around 30 million Euros.
