Italy's Alfieri conquers women's giant slalom gold

Camilla Alfieri of Italy conquered the gold medal of the women's giant slalom of the Winter Universiade on Monday.

The Italian was placed second to Sarah Schaedler of Lichtenstein after the first leg before she timed the best in the second to win in total of two minutes and 0.28 seconds.

A second-best time in the second leg awarded Slovenian Ana Kobal the silver medal on 2:00.64, with Schaedler having to accept the third placing on 2:00.91.
