Getafe fans chant racist abuse at Valencia's Miguel(Reuters)Updated: 2007-01-12 16:00 MADRID, Jan 11 - A section of Getafe fans chanted racist abuse at Valencia's Portuguese fullback Miguel during their King's Cup last 16 first leg on Wednesday. The referee stopped the match in the second half and asked the club to put out an announcement in the stadium asking for fans to stop making the noises, Spanish media reported on Thursday. Getafe made an appeal on the public address system and put a message up on the scoreboard. "The fans in Getafe in general are very good but among them there are a few idiots," Valencia and former Getafe coach Quique Sanchez Flores said after the game, which ended 1-1. "This thing happens in nearly all the stadiums but you always hear too much from these few idiots." Last season Getafe were fined 3,000 euros by the Spanish Football Federation after fans made racist chants at Barcelona's Cameroon striker Samuel Eto'o, and were fined 600 euros after a similar incident with Eto'o the previous season.
