NEW YORK - Vince Carter scored 32 points against his former team to guide the New Jersey Nets to a 101-86 home victory over the Toronto Raptors on Tuesday and into first place in the weak Atlantic Division.

New Jersey (15-19) took a half-game lead over Toronto (15-20), with all five teams in the division still well below the .500 mark.

Carter registered his points before leaving the game late in the fourth quarter when he was poked in the eye by Anthony Parker.

However, he caused plenty of damage before then, going 12-for-23 from the field and adding seven assists and five rebounds.

Jason Kidd, who earlier in the day filed for divorce from his wife of 10 years, contributed 10 points, 14 assists and eight rebounds for the Nets, who are a poor 11-10 at home this season.

New Jersey shot 50 percent from the field and held the Raptors to just 38 second half points to beat Toronto for the second time in three meetings to date this season.

Richard Jefferson added 21 points for the Nets and Mikki Moore scored 12 for the winners, who have four wins in their last five games despite battling a number of injuries.

Toronto slipped to 5-15 on the road this season and got most of its production from its bench players.

Number one draft pick Andrea Bargnani led with 22 points, while Jose Calderon added 16 points and 12 assists and Morris Peterson added 15 points for the losers.

*Tayshaun Prince scored a career-high 33 points as the Detroit Pistons beat the Philadelphia 76ers 98-89, with Detroit shooting 56 percent from the field.

*Pau Gasol had 25 points and 13 rebounds as the Memphis Grizzlies upset the Los Angeles Lakers 128-118.

*Tim Duncan had 16 points and nine rebounds as the San Antonio Spurs got past the Portland Trail Blazers 98-84.

*The Atlanta Hawks lost for the ninth time in their last 10 games, dropping a 91-72 decision to the Indiana Pacers at Indianapolis.
