Marlies Schild of Austria pulled off the fourth World Cup slalom title of the season Thursday to extend her lead in the women's overall standings.

Schild won in one minute and 1.63 seconds on the Slijeme course after a pair of near-flawless runs.

Two-time overall champion Anja Paerson was only nine-hundredths of a second behind Schild after the first run and had the fastest intermediate times on the second, but fell in the lower section after her upper arm clipped a gate.

Theresa Borssen, who won the last slalom in Semmering, Austria, also crashed on her second run.

Home favorite Ana Jelusic finished 1.66 seconds back in second for her first podium, while Sarka Zahrobska of the Czech Republic recorded her best career result in third, 1.85 seconds back.

Schild leads the overall standings with 697 points, 133 points ahead of compatriot Nicole Hosp. Another Austrian, Kathrin Zettel is 135 points back in third.
