JAKARTA - Indonesian badminton player Tony Gunawan, who has been representing the United States since 2002, has said he would be happy to play for Indonesia again should the Indonesian Badminton Association (PBSI) want him to do so.

Tony, however, said he must think about his current position, including his badminton coaching contract in the U.S. which is valid until 2010, and his family, who are living in the U.S., before deciding whether or not to play for Indonesia.

"I would love to play for Indonesia, but it would not be an easy decision," he was quoted Wednesday by English daily The Jakarat post as saying.

Tony, with his men's doubles partner Candra Wijaya, won the 2000 Sydney Olympic gold for Indonesia.

He moved to the U.S. to continue his studies, and has worked as a badminton coach as well as player there since 2002.

Paired with Howard Bach, Tony won the men's doubles world championship title for the U.S. in 2005.
