Nuggets to meet Suns Feb. 5 in rescheduled game(Reuters)Updated: 2006-12-27 08:30 LOS ANGELES - Last week's postponed game between the Denver Nuggets and the Phoenix Suns has been rescheduled for February 5 in Denver, the NBA said on Tuesday. The Western Conference match-up was initially scheduled to take place at Denver's Pepsi Center on December 20 but was called off because of a blizzard. High winds and heavy snowfall in the Denver area left road conditions treacherous and the airport was closed. Although both teams were in Denver, the Nuggets and NBA felt that staging the game last week would not be appropriate and would endanger fans and players trying to get to the venue. The Suns were stranded in Denver for two days before returning to Phoenix on Friday shortly before their home game against the Washington Wizards, which they lost 144-139 in overtime. The high-flying Suns, who lead the Pacific Division, will be bidding for their 18th victory in 20 games when they host the Portland Trail Blazers later on Tuesday. |
