DOHA, Dec 12 - Focus, determination and a healthy dose of Girl Power vaulted China's Xu Lijia to Asian Games gold on Tuesday at Doha Sailing Club.

The only female competitor in her Laser Radial class, Xu swept the field aside to add to her country's mammoth haul of golds.

"I think I am better than all those men out there and my result proves it," the confident 19-year-old smiled. "I have what you call woman power."

Xu thinks she is well qualified to comment on the men in sailing - she is often mistaken for one.

"In my team everybody treats me like a boy," the spiky-haired youngster grinned. "I think I look like a boy also. The other day I went into the ladies' toilet and all the ladies are like 'this is not the men's, so sometimes it is very embarrassing.

"I never thought I would get this far, though. It was a huge shock to me, I'm so happy."
