Golden sweep in the bag for South Korean golfers(Reuters)Updated: 2006-12-12 14:49 DOHA, Dec 11 - South Korea bagged four gold medals in the Asian Games golf competition on Monday at the Doha Golf Club. Kim Kyung-tae, a 20-year-old student from Kangwon, snatched a dramatic one-stroke victory over Taiwanese schoolboy Pan Cheng Tsung to win the men's title and ensure a sweep of the golf events for the Koreans. Kim had trailed 15-year-old Pan by a stroke overnight but grabbed the lead at the 13th hole with a birdie while Pan bogeyed after finding the bunker and the rough. The Taiwanese youngster got a shot back at the 17th but could only match Kim's par on a blistery final hole. "Today, we decided to play for the team and knew if we did that the individual medal would take care of itself," he told reporters via an interpreter. "I did feel the pressure, but the wind picked up, which was good for me because it became difficult to birdie the last hole." Kim, who cites compatriot K.J. Choi and South African Retief Goosen as his role models, also joined up with Kim Do-hoon (Snr), Kim Do-hoon (Jnr) and Kang Sunghoon to win gold in the men's team tournament. Teenager Ryu So-yeon was the clear winner of the women's title with a massive nine-stroke victory over Mika Miyazato of Japan, shooting an impressive six-under 67 on a windy final day. Korea also scored a bronze through Choi He-yong. India pipped Taiwan by a stroke to claim the men's team silver.
