World short course champion Qi Hui of China made the third successful defence here on Thursday as she clinched the 200m individual medley title in the 15th Asian Games.

Qi sailed to the title in two minutes 11.92 seconds after she defended the 200m breaststroke and 400m IM earlier.

The silver medal went to Asami Kitagawa, reigning Asian Games 100m breaststroke champion, in 2:14.51 while her compatriot Maiko Fujino was third in 2:15.21.
