HK govt.congratulate HK athletes in Doha

Updated: 2006-12-07 16:45 Hong Kong Secretary for Home Affairs Patrick Ho Thursday sent his heartfelt congratulations to the Hong Kong team for winning four more medals in the table tennis and snooker events in the Asian Games in Doha. In the table tennis competition held on Wednesday night, Hong Kong table tennis player Li Ching and Ko Lai-chak snatched a gold medal in the Men's Doubles while another pair of Hong Kong player Tie Ya-na and Zhang Rui won silver in the Women's Doubles. Li Ching won bronze in the Men's Singles. Winning a silver medal in the Snooker Men's Team Final were Hong Kong snooker player Marco Fu, Chan Wai-ki, and Fung Kwok-wai. "We are very much impressed by the remarkable performance of the Hong Kong delegation. We are all proud of their unfailing efforts to do their best in the Games," Ho said. As at Thursday, the Hong Kong team has won nine medals, including two gold, three silver and four bronze |
