Malaysian gymnastics prince Ng Shu Wai withdrew from the men's individual all-round final to focus on the vault final, local media reported Tuesday.

As Ng suffered from blisters in his palm, he decided to withdrew from the men's individual all-round final in a bid to get fully prepared for the vault final on Wednesday, Malaysian team manager Hassan Rahman said.

There is a chance for Ng to win a medal, whatever the color, in the vault final in Doha Asian Games, so he would rather devote himself to that competition, Hassan told Malaysian reporters in Doha.

Local media reports said, as no gymnasts from China, Japan and South Korea will take part in the men's vault final, the 21-year- old player is more likely to bring the first gymnastics medal for Malaysia in the Asian Games.

Ng bagged four gold medals in the Southeast Asian Games in Manila last year and seized a silver in the Melbourne Commonwealth Games this March. He is considered the best player in Malaysia's gymnastics history.
