Winning one match will be the goal at Doha Asian Games, table tennis player Iam Tong Hou from Macao, China, said Tuesday.

The 34-year-old Iam will be playing all three men's events: singles, doubles and team at Doha Games which kick off on Dec. 1.

He said all the table tennis players of his team are amateurs who just love the game, so results are not that important to them.

"My personal goal is to win at least one match," said Iam. "The competition at an Asian Games will be very fierce, so I am comfortable with this goal."

"Hopefully, our team can fight into the last 16, but I think it is difficult since our opponents are strong," said the cheerful bank clerk.

Iam will first play the men's team group match where they are pitted against Bahrain, Vietnam and Hong Kong of China.

Hong Kong just missed the 2006 World Team Table Tennis Championships after they lost to South Korea 3-0 while Macao, in division 4, finished 82nd.

Macao fielded over 200 athletes to compete in 28 sports, including athletics, badminton, bodybuilding and Wushu.
