At Charlotte, North Carolina, Adam Morrison broke out of his shooting slump to score 26 points for Charlotte against Boston.

Morrison's jumper with 2:11 left put Charlotte up 85-77. He then fed Emeka Okafor for a layup with 38 seconds left and hit one free throw in the final minute to ice it, finishing one shy of his career high set last week against San Antonio.

Morrison, the No. 3 pick in the draft, had shot only 8-of-29 in the previous two games.

Paul Pierce had 28 points and 12 rebounds but got little help for the Celtics, who shot 40 percent and committed 19 turnovers. Suns 92, Hornets 83=

At Phoenix, Steve Nash scored 24 points to lead Phoenix, which has won of five, past New Orleans.

Boris Diaw and Raja Bell each scored 18 points and Shawn Marion added 15 points and seven rebounds for the Suns. Amare Stoudemire was held scoreless

At Houston, Yao Ming had 25 points and 14 rebounds, Tracy McGrady added 13 points and 12 boards, and Houston survived another fourth-quarter meltdown.

Luther Head made three free throws in the final three seconds and scored 12 for the Rockets, who overcame 22 turnovers to drop Washington to 0-6 on the road this season.

At Sacramento, California, Carlos Boozer had 32 points and 13 rebounds, and Utah rallied from a 21-point deficit to pick up their seventh straight victory.

Utah outscored Sacramento 39-17 in the fourth quarter. Mehmet Okur put the Jazz ahead for good with a 3-pointer for a 101-99 lead with 1:45 left.

Deron Williams had 20 points, 13 rebounds and seven assists for the Jazz (11-1), who have the best record in the NBA and are off to the best start in franchise history.

At Portland, Oregon, Zach Randolph scored 25 points and Portland rallied to beat New Jersey.

Portland trailed by as many as 14 points before Randolph's hook shot with 2:51 left put the Blazers ahead 92-90, their first lead of the game.

Vince Carter had 35 points in New Jersey's third straight loss. Nenad Krstic scored 18 to pass 2,000 career points.

At Oakland, California, Carmelo Anthony had 33 points and nine rebounds, and Denver held off Golden State for its third straight victory.

Anthony hit six of his first seven shots, went 12-for-18 on the night and also added four assists and three steals in his seventh 30-point performance in eight games, helping the Nuggets sustain a late Golden State rally.

Marcus Camby had 14 points and 16 rebounds and Andre Miller added 17 points and 10 assists for the Nuggets, who showed few signs of being fatigued from playing on back-to-back nights _ aside from committing 25 turnovers. SuperSonics 95, Clippers 85=

At Los Angeles, Rashard Lewis had 35 points and 13 rebounds, Ray Allen scored 12 of his 23 points in the fourth quarter, and Seattle dealt the Los Angeles Clippers their first home loss of the season.

Reserve forward Tim Thomas scored 15 points for the Clippers, who won their first six games at Staples Center to set a franchise record for the fastest start at home. They were the road team in Tuesday's 105-101 loss to the Lakers.

Elton Brand had 16 rebounds and seven points, and Chris Kaman had 14 rebounds and 12 points.
