Nowitzki lifts Mavs over Bobcats for sixth straight win(Reuters)Updated: 2006-11-21 15:14 NEW YORK - Dirk Nowitzki led Dallas to a 93-85 road triumph over the Charlotte Bobcats on Monday, the Mavericks winning a sixth straight game after dropping the first four of the season. The German power forward scored 24 points and hauled down 14 rebounds for the Mavericks, who triumphed despite shooting just 39 percent from the field. The Mavericks also missed 13 free throws, but hit 5-of-11 three-point attempts and dominated the boards, out-rebounding the Bobcats 48-37 to hand Charlotte a sixth loss in the last seven games. Devin Harris added 17 points for the Mavericks, who squandered 10- and nine-point leads in the third quarter before finally pulling away late in the game. Jerry Stackhouse returned from missing one game with a strained groin to score 15 points for Dallas and Jason Terry also had 15 points. Erick Dampier had 15 rebounds for the Mavs and added eight points. Emeka Okafor had 22 points and 13 rebounds for Charlotte, and set a franchise record with eight blocks, which also equaled a league-high for this season with Indiana's Jermaine O'Neal. Okafor had the team record for blocks in a game with seven, which he set just last week against New Orleans. Gerald Wallace added 21 points for the Bobcats, who slipped to 2-8
overall.
