Cricket Australia said Friday it had not received any complaints from the England cricket team over alleged racist comments made to two players over the past 10 days.

English spinner Monty Panesar, a bearded Sikh of Indian descent, was reportedly verbally abused at a match in Sydney last weekend. And there were also reports that South African-born Kevin Pietersen was abused in England's tour opener in Canberra on November 10.

"It's very much alleged,certainly we haven't had any official complaint or anything from the English team," Sutherland said. "There's no place for racism or racist taunts at our matches ... clearly it's something that's going to be monitored closely."

On Thursday in New Delhi, Britain's sport minister Richard Caborn urged the International Cricket Council to crack down on racial taunts from spectators.

"No part of sport can accept racism," said Caborn, who was in India leading a British sport business delegation. "The sport's governing body has to get involved and take appropriate action."

The first Ashes test between Australia and England starts November 23 at Brisbane.

"Authorities have to be at war on this," Caborn said. "I'm going to be talking to my counterpart in Australia, we've got a little difficulty down there."

Australia's fans have been under scrutiny since the ICC investigated a complaint by South Africa cricket authorities and ruled that the racial abuse of cricketers was "premeditated, coordinated and calculated to get under the players' skins."
