AMSTERDAM, Nov 15 - Dutch police arrested four English and 34 Dutch soccer fans for drunk and disorderly behaviour on Wednesday before England's friendly with the Netherlands at the Amsterdam Arena.

Police said they had dispersed a noisy group of around 150 fans in the centre of the city, famed for its sex industry and legal trade in marijuana, early on Wednesday. Four English fans were arrested for drunkenness, vandalism and urinating in the street.

The Dutch fans were arrested in the red light district.

"They had a fight with a few British supporters," a police spokesman said.

Up to 10,000 England supporters are expected in Amsterdam and English police have travelled to the Netherlands to monitor supporters.

"On Tuesday night there were large numbers of rowdy England supporters in the red light district...but there were only minor incidents and things stayed quiet," Amsterdam police said in a statement.
