Argentine wins S. American Games bowls, Brazilian wins 25m pistol

Argentina's Luciano Bardelli Monday won the bowls at the eighth South American Games which runs until Sunday in the Argentine capital city of Buenos Aires and nearby coastal city Mar del Plata.

Peru's Alfredo Chavez Farfan pocketed the silver, and Uruguay's Ruben Paolino Correa the bronze.

Brazil's Julio Antonio de Sousa Almeida won the gold in the 25-meter pistol with 571 points, while Argentina's Daniel Felizia won the silver with 570 points, and Brazil's Duarte Emerdon the bronze with 568 points.

Argentina currently leads the gold medals table with 42, followed by Brazil on 34, Colombia 25 and Venezuela 21.

The Games is being run by the South American Sports Organization (Odesur).
