Colombia dominates S. American Games athletics

Colombia dominated the athletics' medals table in Monday's events at the eighth South American Games, which run until Sunday in the Argentine capital Buenos Aires, and nearby coastal city Mar del Plata.

The team won 12 gold, 12 silver and six bronze medals. Brazil came second with 10 gold, 13 silver and 13 bronze medals while Venezuela placed third, with five gold and 13 other medals.

The games are organized by the South American Sports Organization (Odesur) and the canoeing, judo and athletics competition run until the last day of the games.
