Students of a secondary school in Vac, 30 kms north of Budapest, set a Guinness record by playing basketball for 60 hours incessantly.

The team of Boronkay Gyorgy Technical Grammar School played from 0800 on Friday to 2000 on Sunday to enter the Guinness Book of Records.

The attempt was announced in advance and officially recorded, organisers told MTI on Monday.

The previous record of 57 hours and 25 minutes was held by US university students.
