LONDON - Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger said on Friday he was finally happy with the outcome of the Ashley Cole transfer saga which brought French defender William Gallas to the club.

England international Cole moved to Chelsea in a deal which pocketed Arsenal five million pounds ($9.35 million) and gave the club the services of Gallas.

Asked on Friday if Gallas was one of the best defenders in the world, Wenger said: "I think he is. He lets his performances talk for him and he's a winner."

He added: "He has integrated very well and he gives us that little bit extra.

"I feel we are strong but have a lack of experience. But with Gallas you feel that extra bit of experience is there."

Wenger was quick to play down talk of his 10th-year anniversary at Arsenal although he did say he has no desire to match Manchester United's Alex Ferguson and serve for 20 years.

Wenger said: "You must act every day like you will have your whole life there but you must accept it can end tomorrow."
