In the latest IAAF rankings, Liu topped the table with a total of 1394 points, outshining close rivals Dayron Robles from Cuba and American Terrence Trammell.

Robles is still in second place with 1387 points, followed by Trammell with 1383.

Another Chinese hurdler, Shi Dongpeng, slid one place to 28 position after a false start at the Shanghai games.
