World Championship tips-off on Tuesday

unforeseen circumstances connected to their travel itinerary, the womenĄŻs
national team of Lithuania was not able to enter the host country of the FIBA
World Championship for Women in Brazil. The team from Lithuania was forced to
travel, due to the cancellation of the flight originally scheduled, on their way
to Brazil via French Guyana. Brazilian law foresees that anybody who wishes to
enter Brazil from French Guyana needs a vaccination, which the Lithuanian team,
not originally planning to travel through French Guyana, did not have.
The Brazilian authorities made the necessary arrangements and got an
autorization to let Lithuanian team to enter Brazil.
