Gasol, who injured his left foot during their 75-74 semi-final win over
Argentina, limped towards every timeout to encourage his teammates.
Entering the court with "Pau also play" on the T-shirts, the Spaniards used a
10-0 run to put up a 28-12 lead midway in the second quarter.
Jorge Garbajosa buried three 3-pointers for nine points in this quarter to
give Spain a 43-23 lead before the break.
Garbajosa's 4th long-range shot killed the Greeks as the 2.06-meter power
forward scored on Spain's last possession on the third quarter to maintain the
20-point advantage on 54-34.
Greece, who defeated the United States 101-96 in the semi-finals, was held to
only two points in the first half of the decisive fourth quarter when the
Spaniards extended it to 63-36.
The European champions shot 18-out-of-55 in the whole game with Mihalis
Kakiouzis led the Greeks with 17 points and nine rebounds.
The 46 points is the second lowest scoring in the competition. Australia beat
Qatar 93-46 in the preliminary round.
Garbajosa was 6-out-of-11 from behind the arc to finish with 20 points and 10
rebounds while Carlos Navarro chipped in 20 points as well.
