"I think Senegal were worn down," said USA coach Mike Krzyzewski, who opted to rest Wade in view of Saturday's game.

"I think our players handled things really well, in a classy manner. We grew up a lot here, especially coming back against Italy.

"I think our pool was excellent. We were challenged in every game, with the exception of this game and that was due to the fact that they were tired.

"We have to study now Australia, I just know they have Andrew Bogut and they have qualified for the next round so we expect a good game from them."

The Americans, who went into the contest having already secured the top spot of Group D after four consecutive victories, stormed to a 58-24 half-time lead with the African side hopelessly outmatched.

"At this level, no-one has mercy on you," said Savane.

"We cannot go to such a prestigious competition as we did.

"There are so many things we have to change back home, from the federation to how we prepare for these type of events.

"During our preparation stages we worried about stupid things instead of concentrating on basketball and we came here trying to find solutions as we went along."
