SAPPORO (FIBA World Championship) - To be one a great teacher in any profession, one first must be willing to learn.

It is no surprise, then, that Team USA coach Mike Krzyzewski admits this summer has been a true education for him in basketball.

A legend at Duke University, Coach K is now in charge of Team USA and despite having gone unbeaten this summer, he has remained humble.

In an interview with PA Sport's Cindy Garcia-Bennett on behalf of FIBA, K talks about his summer as the coach of Team USA.

FIBA: Coach, you seem to really be enjoying yourself in Japan. What has this experience been like so far?

K: "I'm very impressed with international basketball. To get a chance to do so with the collegiate even with the nba. There's a welth of talent in these countries and I'm so impressed with how well coached the offenses and defenses of teams are .

FIBA: Have there been any surprises?

K: I'm learning a lot by watching and competing against them. It's certainly worldwide the best basketball so I'm honoured to be coaching against them."

FIBA: Your team really plays exciting basketball. Is everything going according to plan?

K:"We just have to keep getting to know each other more and keep up our intensity and we will have a chance."

FIBA: China have lost a couple of games already. There were some moments against the Americans whey they looked really good. What do you make of their team?

K: "China hung in there marvellously. We played with great effort. We beat a good team. Yao just keeps getting better and better so we feel very good about the win."

FIBA Dwyane Wade was amazing this year in the NBA Finals with Miami. Against China, we saw the best Wade. That must be good news for your team.

K: "The further away we get from the NBA play-offs, he was warn out and he should be because he won the Championship. He keeps getting better and hopefully we can still stay away from injury."

FIBA: Slovenia lost to Italy, which was a mild upset. But they will be familiar with your players since so many are in the NBA. What are your thoughts before that game?

K: "I'm impressed with them they have a well conceived offense, they have a number of NBA players on their team so they are not intimidated. Well coached. they lost a heartbreaker against Italy, it was a great game. Italy and Slovenia are two teams with amazing grit and toughness so we expect those two games to be really tough games for us."
