Panama target second phase (FIBA World Championship) Updated: 2006-08-17 09:25 DALLAS - Panama coach
Guillermo Vecchio insists his side can reach the second stage of the FIBA World
Championship.
The Central-American outfit have been drawn in Group B alongside Spain, New
Zealand, Germany, hosts Japan and Angola, who they face in their opening game on
Saturday.
But Vecchio believes his team have prepared well for the tournament and could
cause one or two surprises as long as they take things "step-by-step".
"It is a difficult, tough championship, but we'll go game-by-game looking for
one win and another win, to achieve our goal," he said.
"We'll do our best, we'll do our best performance and hopefully we'll achieve
our goal and make it into the following phase."
