History
The tournament is held every four years between Olympic Games. Beginning in 2006, the number of participating teams will be increased to 24 nations (from 16). The most successful teams in the history of the World Championships are Yugoslavia with five golden titles, and then the United States and the Soviet Union, with three titles each. |
